Detective
Sergeant Thomas Brown
Detective Sergeant Thomas Brown began his career with the
Duxbury Police Department in 1974. Sergeant Brown was both a
scholar and mentor to the men and women of the department. He
was a 1980 graduate of Northeastern University with his Masters
degree in Criminal Justice. After many years as a Patrolman he
was promoted to Sergeant in 1987. In 1989 he was called upon to
command the detective division. Because of Sergeant Brown’s
extensive police experience both in the field and in the
classroom, he was assigned the additional duty of department
training officer in 1990. Sergeant Brown passed away after a
battle with cancer on November 1st 1991, at the age of 44. He is
remembered as a selfless officer who was highly dedicated to the
community, his fellow officers, and his family. Sergeant Brown
left a lasting impression on the department that is carried on
by his two sons, Tom and Dan who are presently officers with the
department. |
